Interim Meeting in Malta 20-22 March
What an amazing time at the Interim Meeting in Malta!
Over a week ago, five of our club members (Juliah, Marie, Marelie, Ulrike and Ginny) have just returned from the FAWCO Interim Meeting in Malta.
And wow, what a destination! The island is bursting with energy, color, and endless things to explore. They even arrived a little early to soak it all in, just in time for two major celebrations: the lively festivities of St. Patrick’s Day and the beautiful traditions of the Feast of St. Joseph.
From Friday through Sunday, the conference brought together FAWCO members and sister clubs from all over the world. It was the perfect mix of reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting inspiring new people, and sharing ideas. The pace was fast, the conversations were energizing, and there was no shortage of incredible women to learn from and connect with.
And we didn’t just attend—we celebrated some big wins, too! Our club was awarded both Development Grants we applied for.
- The Education Grant goes to Yewande Olusore’s Steadfast Love Foundation in Lagos Nigeria.
- The Human Rights Grant to Gigi Nimrod’s Paintbrush Foundation in Bangkok
two amazing organizations we’ve proudly supported before. These grants, funded by the FAWCO Foundation, will help drive meaningful, hands-on impact in the communities they serve.
There’s more good news: Ginny Trowman received one of the 5 Fawco Rep awards. And our very own Rebekka Klingshirn received an Education Award (the Skills Enhancement Award) to further her studies in education and AI. These awards recognize outstanding academic achievement and are open to FAWCO members and their families—such a fantastic opportunity!
Just a quick reminder: as an HIWC member, you’re also part of FAWCO, which means these programs and opportunities are open to you, too.
And finally… something exciting on the horizon! It was officially announced that Heidelberg will host the next FAWCO Biennial Meeting from March 12–14, 2027. Our club will play a key role in organizing this special event—so if you’d like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you. Stay tuned!
