AGM & HIWC 7th BDAY - 02.02.2025
We had a wonderful Annual General Meeting at the cozy, newly opened Heerlijk Bar in Bergheim. While we initially expected around 20 members to attend this important event, a few had to cancel last minute due to illness. During the meeting, we unanimously elected our new executive board for the 2025 term. Congratulations to Juliah (President), Beth (Vice President), and Mary (Treasurer) on their election! Thank you for your dedication and commitment to leading our club forward.
As President, Juliah provided an overview of the club’s past achievements and an exciting look at what’s ahead in 2025. Attendees also had the opportunity to hear about our club’s performance in 2024—covering finances, activities, charities, and FAWCO—thanks to insightful reports from Mary, Marelie, and Ginny. For a small club, we can truly be proud of all we have accomplished! For those who couldn’t attend the meeting, the protocol and financial report will be available on our website soon, accessible only to registered members. If you haven’t yet, please make sure to register!
A highlight of the event was the announcement of the 2024 Barbara Belosa Volunteer of the Year Award. This year’s recipient is Ursula Wehrer, recognized for her tireless dedication and contributions. Congratulations, Ursula, on this well-deserved honor! We were also pleased to welcome a special guest, Frau Eveline Bastian from the German American Club, who shared details about their upcoming "Pfennig Basar." This well-known three-day event, taking place from March 13–15 in Emmertsgrund, raises up to 30,000 euros for charitable causes. She is seeking support from our club, and we encourage members to get involved.
Following the meeting, we celebrated with a delicious potluck lunch, beginning with a spirited rendition of “Happy Birthday” to us! A heartfelt thank you to all members who took the time to attend—we truly appreciate your commitment and support.
